*Prachi-Rohit's love story: How the two were destined to be together*
It was in the year 2012, when actress Prachi Tehlan crossed paths with her to-be husband Rohit Saroha during a cousin’s wedding. Very much like a romantic Bollywood love story, the guy (Rohit) felt an instant connection with the girl, approached her, the two had interesting conversations about life but unfortunately parted ways after three months of relationship. However, destiny had different plans for them as this was just the beginning of a life-long-relation.
“Both of us were focussed on our individual careers and there were inhibitions in us about taking it (the relationship) forward. We hardly met thrice in those three months of dating, before deciding to part ways and move on in life,” recalls Prachi.
“Today, when I look back, it’s hard to believe that we didn’t exchange a single message for eight years almost, until May this year, when we thought of connecting again on Instagram,” says Prachi, while narrating the story further.
With excitement filled in, the ‘Mamangam’ actress speaks of how Rohit proposed to her on the second day of reconnecting. “I thought he was joking and therefore didn’t pay much attention to it. But I won’t deny that I could sense confidence in every word of his. He was taking a stand for everything and was serious about getting married. We thought about it and decided to inform our parents. And they were elated – more excited than us.”
Elaborating on the involvement of families and their reaction to the news, Prachi says, “My mom always knew about him and had a liking for him. But when I told her and rest of the family about the proposal, they were happy beyond words. His family responded the same way. Besides our liking for each other, belonging to the same community (Jaat) was another reason for them to be happy about. In arranged marriages, as you know, parents try to look for a suitable match within their own community.”
Post that, Prachi’s family visited Rohit’s house to meet him for the first time. “Later, they came to our place for the Roka ceremony, which took place on the 4th of July, which is my mom’s birthday. And here we are, ready to be together for life within next two days.”
The two were earlier planning to get married on 25th November, “but then what was the point in pushing it that far. We both aren’t that busy during COVID and hence thought to get together as soon as possible.”
"Well, everything happens at the right time," concludes Prachi.
